Introducing our newest addition. A sweet, bull calf {yet to be named}. He is just way to cute. I am bummed that we missed his birth but he is healthy and spunky, nursing really well. He was up and running around when I got out there at 7:45.
My guess was that he was no more than four hours old when I got out to the barn. He was still a bit wet but was on his feet in a flash and nursing like a champ, knowing right where food was located. He was running around his mama after his nursing session.
Hi Megan! New fan, visiting from the Homestead Barn Hop. Congratulations on your new arrival- he's beautiful!

how cute! Our little one is 3 months old and started to change from jersey fawn to a darker brown, its so funny to watch them change colour. Glad that the birth went well, you will have to write about milking now!
ReplyDeletei wish you would print all the writings in your blog up dates. it is very hard for me to read the words on it without the magnifying glass. enjoy them anyway. jana
ReplyDeleteDo you have updated pictures on how this guy turned out? I just purchased a Jersey Highland cross and I'm curious what she will grow up to look like.
ReplyDeleteI don't of him but we are actually milking a jersey/highland cross right now. It won't let me post pics in the comments but if you wanted to email me I would send you a couple of pictures of her.
